Novelty – Refined Wood in Royal Quality

SPEKVA’s new range of refined wood comes from plantations in New Zealand. Naturally, the forestry is sustainable and FSC-certified.

What is refined wood?
The plantation wood is refined (= processed to improve the properties of the wood) using a patented technology where compound is pumped into the wood under high pressure. The process makes the wood hard with a dark colouration giving it the appearance and the properties of tropical wood.

The compound that is pumped into the wood consists of a large amount of water to which is added an amino compound and colour pigments. Amino acid is also used as a food supplement.

The colour pigments used are similar to those used in crayons etc. and in approved hair colouring products.

The process makes SPEKVA the only worktop manufacturer able to supply worktops with a new unique structure.

Product Range
The product range is defined by its long and continuous grain definition of up to 5,400mm in length and with a stave width of up to 85mm.

The “Wild”-series consist of staves with a varying grain structure and a stave width of approx. 80 mm.

The “Safari”-series consist of staves with a “Zebra”-like structure and a stave width of approx. 35 mm.

“Wild” and “Safari” ranges consist of the colours Brasilica and Bavarian.
