The history of SPEKVA
SPEKVA was founded in 1968 by Johannes Spek close to the town of Vamdrup – hence the company name.
The controversial joiner’s shop developed gradually to become a specialised worktop manufacturer creating quality solutions in solid wood based on good craftsman traditions.
Up through the 1990’s, new export markets were developed and in year 2000 SPEKVA took over Odense Natursten A/S and started selling stone products from its own factory.
|
In 2009, Aalborg Træindustri A/S merged with SPEKVA, and the production of Aalborg Træindustri moved from Nørresundby to Vamdrup.
The history of Aalborg Træindusti dates back to 1946, and for many years the company was owned by joiner Mogens Jensen.
The merger between Aalborg Træindustri and SPEKVA has created a much stronger supplier of worktops to the kitchen industry.
